The Lady from the Sea [#books #review]

by Henrik Ibsen

I like the sea but I can't say I'm passionate about it, and yet the character of Ellida impressed me a lot! She is a woman torn in half between family life and the call of the sea, her passion is engaging, powerful, fascinating and terrible, just like the sea.
The reading of this play was very pleasant. The Lady from the Sea is a short but very intense story, it tells about the sea but also about love, family and human relationships in general, it tells about courage and self-realization, and there is also a certain dose of mystery that never hurts. It captivated and excited me a lot: just a nice read!
