Studiando alcune pitture rupestri francesi un archeologo e un artista hanno avanzato l'ipotesi che le immagini fossero da intendersi come delle sequenza sovrapposte, ovvero per dare l'idea del movimento l'artista preistorico disgnava l'animale in pose diverse.
