Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Episode 4.01 "The Ghost" [#tvseries #review]

← Ep. 3.22 "Ascension"
Ep. 2 →

They say when the Rider burns you he burns your soul. And a soul can never heal.

This first episode wasn't great, but it already presented several interesting ideas, showing that in this season, as in the previous ones, the storylines will be multiple. Let's look a bit at them.
John Hannah, namely Dr. Holden Radcliffe, appears among the regular actors already from this first episode. The character continues to be a little ambiguous, but there is no denying his genius: Aida is just fantastic (although she still needs some fixing), and she's Madalena from Galavant!!!!!!
Coulson is no longer Director. Everyone's talking about the new one, but we never see him, and a lot of people seem unhappy with the new management.
Daisy and her mission is a storyline that annoys me a lot, I hope it'll end up soon! This version of her is really tiresome!
Helena is back! :D She and Mack continue to circle each other not too subtly, but they never conclude. We also discover that Yo-Yo has signed the Sekovia accords! I always liked this character very much, I hope we'll see her often.
The Rider is interesting, I liked how he was presented. I know nothing about this Marvel character, except that his head is a skull on fire, so for me it's all new to discover! :)
Following Daisy's traces our guys stumble upon a mysterious box from which comes out a ghost-like woman that no one can see who seems able to infect people giving them hallucinations that usually culminate with these people killing each other.
So, here you are 6 new ideas that can become as much different storylines: really not bad as a first episode!

Quotes

They watch my every move, but certain moves they can't see.
Helena

Daisy: "I think I may have stumbled upon a serial killer."
Helena: "Ohohh! Fun!"

Daisy: " You don't get to decide who deserves to die"
Robbie: "I'm not the one who decides."
