Welcome to Night Vale [#podcast #review]

If you could press a button that would give you a great deal of money, but it would cause someone you don't know in a distant part of the world to die, then you would have a good model for how our current economy works.
Episode 105 - What Happened at the Smithwick House AUDIO

In the small town of Night Vale nothing can be considered "normal": citizens, houses, jobs, shops, religions, even pets, mountains and the sun, everything has a "particular" behavior, often absurd or totally incomprehensible.

Internet is a small world. Ok, no, it's actually huge, almost infinite if we think about the number of information it contains, but if you hang out at certain circles, certain things return often. One of these is Welcome to Night Vale, a podcast series linked to the supernatural. I was intrigued to hear about it, but I didn't know if I'd be able to listen to something in English and enjoy it. Then I tried with the Harry Potter audiobooks and I realised it was easier than I thought. Then I kept hearing so so much about Welcome to Night Vale that I gave up, and started listening to this podcast, I fell in love with it!!!

Welcome to Night Vale is structured as a radio broadcast from the town of Night Vale, located in the desert of an unspecified US state. Night Vale is not a normal town, the supernatural is a daily affair, and it manifests itself in the most disparate and usually fun ways. But Don't get me wrong, it's not completely crazy, the absurd is always there, but the stories often are horror too.

I really really love this podcast series, and I hope it will have more and more fans! Below I'm leaving you some useful links to follow Welcome to Night Vale. The thing I love most of this series, in addition to the characters, the voices, the stories, is that it manages to be fun and creepy at the same time, and it manages to do both things really well! Try it, please, so you too can experience how nice it feels to be Welcome to Night Vale!

Info

Welcome to Night Vale is created by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor.
The voice of Night Vale is Cecil Baldwin
