Sherlock Holmes

It's a well known fact that Conan Doyle didn't love Sherlock Holmes, he had in fact got rid of him in Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes, but here by popular demand he was forced to bring him back, for the delight of Watson and the readers. Unfortunately, I have to say that maybe I'm starting to share the author's opinion because I liked these stories much less than I expected. I felt Conan Doyle's tiredeness: the stories are no longer so compelling, investigations are repetitive, Holmes' solutions are no longer so extraordinary. Then let's add the fact that for me short stories aren't well suited for mistery narration, novels are better. Certainly, however, not an unpleasant read!
