Urban Fantasy AU.
In a version of Middle-Earth that is mostly like our world, various races live together: Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Hobbits and Orcs. Every group has its leader, but they are all subject to a general government and so to the same laws.
When Thorin Oakenshield is accused of murder, lieutenant Bard Bowman has some doubts about his guilt, despite the evidences. A surprise witness will come to make things easier for him. Or more complicated, it depends.
